Aobakwe Selebi is a communications and policy professional with a strong focus on inclusive development, migration governance, and multi-stakeholder engagement. She has worked across civil society, international organisations, and diplomatic structures to deliver strategic communications, coordinate programmes, and support collaborative policymaking processes.
Her experience includes facilitating engagement between over 120 grassroots and youth-led organisations with UN agencies and national governments, producing multilingual communication materials in English and French, and supporting high-level consultations such as the Global Forum on Migration and Development (GFMD) and the Global Compact for Migration (GCM) Regional Reviews.
Currently, she serves as the Secretariat Coordinator for the African Non-State Actors Platform on Migration & Development, where she leads the conceptualisation and implementation of advocacy and programme activities aimed at strengthening civil society, trade union and diaspora participation in migration and development processes concerning, and across the continent.
Selebi holds a Master’s degree in Development Studies, with a specialisation in Mobilities, Spaces, and Cities, from the Geneva Graduate Institute (IHEID), grounding her work in both academic expertise and real-world impact.
