Mobility Roundtable: Rethinking Skills Development and Labour Mobility in Africa
African Non-state Actors Platform on Migration and Development to host High-level roundtable and training for grassroots: Rethinking Skills development & Labour Mobility in Africa. Nairobi, Kenya - Tues 11 Aug 2026
On Tues 11 Aug, the platform will be convening a high-level roundtable and a training for grassroots organisations in Nairobi, Kenya.
Under the theme "Rethinking Skills development & labour mobility in Africa, the high-level dialogue will bring together ecosystem players including the Kenyan government, TVET institutions, UN system, private sector, academia, trade unions and civil society representatives.
The targeted training will provide an opportunity for grassroot organisations to dive deeper on thematics related to green skills and rights-based approach for skilled development, among others.
The platform team includes Lukmon Akintola and Paddy Siyanga Knudsen with platform members from Kenya, Candle of Hope foundation (Ms Nimo Ali) and AMADPOC (Dr. Linda Oucho). Grateful that other platform members will also be in attendance.
The platform members will also participate in the GreenWorks4Africa forum taking place in Nairobi from 12-13 Aug 2026.
The activities are with the support from platform partners: Centre for Global Development (CGD) and Friedrich Ebert Stiftfung (FES AMPC).
