Emeka Xris Obiezu

Dr. Emeka Xris Obiezu is a distinguished scholar and global expert in migration governance, international development, and public policy. With extensive experience consulting for organizations like the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), Economist Impact, International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD), International Organization for Migration (IOM), International Labour Organization (ILO), and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), he plays a key role in shaping migration policies. His work influences Africa’s role in global migration dialogues, including the Global Compact for Migration (GCM) and the Global Forum on Migration and Development (GFMD). As National Coordinator of the Civil Society Network on Migration and Development (CSOnetMADE), he leads 300+ civil society organizations, enhancing non-state actor engagement. He is also an adjunct lecturer, co-author of the African Migration Review, and Director of Research and Projects at the Center for Migration Studies, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, strengthening migration policy and governance.
